“What we see now is like a dim image in a mirror… Then we shall see, face to face. When I was a child, my speech, feelings, and thinking were all those of a child. Now that I am a man, I have no more use for childish ways.” – Major Motoko Kusanagi/Puppet Master, “Ghost in the Shell” (1997)

Noah Demchuk is a visual artist whose work emerges from vulnerability, tenderness and inconsistency. They completed their first year in 2019 at the Yukon School of Visual Art in Dawson City before transferring to Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Noah chose the visual arts major as a way to access as many forms of creative expression as they could.

They utilize photography, digital illustration as well as a scanned images and collage to create unique spaces for healing. They are drawn to queer erotic imagery, finding safety and euphoria in various circles of the kink community. Their work dares to be looked at, to be ogled at, for it too gazes at its viewers whether the pieces have eyes or not. Leather and latex reveal through concealing.
