Love Thy Neighbour Project.
Love Thy Neighbour Project aims to create a more loving environment or community by creating more awareness about The Five Different Types of Love Languages each person has.
This project is overall inspired by Jesus’ instruction found in the book of Matthew 22: 36-40 which is to Love God and to “Love Thy Neighbours as Yourself”; as well as by the 5 Love Languages Concept by Dr. Gary Chapman.
How indeed do we LOVE BETTER?
In a self-serving “me-culture”, how indeed do we love better? One way to do it is to remind ourselves to offer selfless love to our “Loved Ones” or our “Neighbours”.
Aforementioned, one rule of thumb we could follow is to Love your Neighbours as you would love Yourself. It sounds cliche and simple at first, but how indeed do we apply this practically? We show this by not giving others the love “you think” they want. Sounds contradicting? Hear me out.
How do we show it PRACTICALLY?
We don’t give them the love “we think” they want, but what they indeed want. And we get to know this by knowing their Love Language. Every single person has a different Love Language, this is the main type of way they like to GIVE and RECEIVE Love.
You, for example, could have Love Language A and your partner could have Love Language B. While giving your partner A-type of Love is good, you could show your love better by giving your partner a B-type of Love.
The 5 Different Types of Love or the “5 Love Languages”
SOLUTION Love Thy Neighbour Starter Kit.
The solution to my project’s goal is to create a Love thy Neighbour Starter Kit. Using this kit, my vision was for each User to be made aware of the 5 Five Love Languages Concept, find out what their and their loved ones’ Love Languages are, and be able to immediately apply and act upon them using some of the interactive prompts included in the kit.
IN THE KIT
ZINE + QUIZ YOURSELF
The Zine includes all the basic knowledge about the Five Love Languages. It also dives into the Faith-based inspiration of this project. 5 copies of the Quiz Page are also added for the User to find out their and their loved ones’ Love Languages.
REMINDER CARDS
The purpose of these cards is to allow the User to jot down theirs and their loved ones Love Language results.
MARKETING
This includes Posters and Stickers that will create more awareness visually and serve as concept advertisement.
POSTCARDS
The postcards include quick information regarding each of the 5 Love Languages. It also includes Do’s + Dont’s, as well as 10 Action Ideas they could take to show love for someone who has the Love Language indicated in the postcard.
MINI POSTCARDS
The Mini Postcard includes only a quick rundown of the 5 Love Languages. The idea is to allow the user to carry the card with them anywhere as a mini-guide sheet.
INTERACTIVE PROMPTS
The Interactive Prompts are mini items that could be used in order for the User to apply their knowledge and immediately act upon their loved ones’ Love Language.

BRANDING
The original branding for this project was far from this. Originally coming from vibrant hues of red and strong typography, I re-directed the branding to a more softer look that would embody the ‘Love’ aspect of my project in a softer way. The play on multiple typefaces is in response to applying a contemporary feel to this typography-led project.
The use of photographs are also implemented in regards to visuals.
